A Heartfelt Thank You to All

I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported me throughout this election effort, and to those who worked tirelessly to help me get elected. While things didn’t turn out as we hoped, I remain deeply grateful for your commitment and belief in my vision for Woonsocket.

Looking ahead, our city faces significant financial challenges, especially with the loss of federal funding. I trust that those who promised they are capable of addressing these problems will now have to find solutions among themselves. However, I urge you not to be swayed by flashy projects funded by the remaining ARPA funds. The real fiscal challenges—particularly concerning our budget and tax structure—will continue to test the foundation of our finances for years to come.

I have no plans to seek elected office in Woonsocket again, and the campaign website and Facebook page sites will be closed at the end of the month. I extend my sincerest blessings and best wishes for the future of our city. It has been an honor to serve Woonsocket, whether in elected office or as a volunteer, over the past 30 years. I am thankful for the opportunity to contribute in any way I could.

To my family—thank you will never be enough for the support you’ve given me over the years. Your patience, understanding, and resilience in the face of all the challenges, including the criticisms and difficulties we faced together, means the world to me.

God's blessings to all, and my deepest wish for success and prosperity for Woonsocket.

With gratitude,

John Ward
